How? It has made me more appreciative of the things in life that keep one happy year after year. Familiarity of family and friends. A routine. Stability. A lifestyle you can depend on to keep you going every day. She replied, “Yes, but this is so boring”.
I defer to the visual metaphor of bland steel-cut oatmeal. It is one of the best things you can put in your stomach. It regulates your intestines, keeps your stomach stable, makes you feel better when you’re not feeling well and is basically a great diet staple.
Well that’s what a life of routine, family and familiarity offer. Its necessary to keep that calm balance of life we all can take for granted. Each person, event and effort you harvest, is keeping that world of comfort alive and well. Without it, well sometimes life can be like salsa without chips. Its good and spicy, but still missing something.
Cherish your comfortable life and everyone in it. Remember.. sure the grass can look greener on the other side, but at the end of the day, it needs a good mowing too.
